He'eia Fishpond

Today we ventured to the wet windward side of Oahu into Kaneohe to He'eia fishpond. Aunty Hi'ilei Kawelo told us all about the structure of the kuapa (wall) and it's rich history. We also heard a great mo'olelo about the rat people of Kalaupoko and Ewa.
Then the class had the opportunity to help rebuild the kuapa with the surrounding coral.
