Kanewai Lo'i

Last week the class took an adventure to the University of Hawaii's Kanewai Lo'i to learn about the architecture and planning it takes to have a successful Ahupua'a. We discovered the variety of Kalo they have and the various methods of planting the Kalo. We also had the opportunity to get muddy by collecting and stomping the dead leaves back into the Lo'i. After our farming we jumped into Manoa stream to wash off and explore the stream life.
